Brander comes home in ‘Roos coup

JARROD Brander is returning home from the GWS Giants to play for Wentworth in 2023, the SFNL club announced on Friday afternoon.

The former Wentworth junior makes the move to the Roos after playing in 22 games across five seasons in the AFL.

The 23-year-old spent 2022 with the Giants and was named the best and fairest for the reserves.

Brander also spent four seasons at West Coast Eagles, who drafted him in 2017 at pick 13.

The versatile forward’s inclusion adds more firepower to a Wentworth forward line which features Wade Hancock, who kicked 68 goals this season.

In a post on Wentworth Football Netball Club’s Facebook page, the club said Brander was “a huge inclusion” to its 2022 grand final squad and it looked forward to Brander being “part of the Roos once again”.
