Hunt for vandals

GOL Gol Cricket Club has been the target of vandals over the past week.

Club president Daron Hulls said there were two incidents that had occurred at Alcheringa Sporting Complex.

“Firstly, the cricket clubrooms were the subject of vandalism in the form of targeted graffiti,” he wrote on the club’s Facebook page.

“Secondly, undesirables decided to smash glass bottles on the centre wicket area, move the boundary ropes around and then finally steal the boundary ropes (last) Sunday night.

“Our club works extremely hard to ensure a safe and secure environment is provided for all to enjoy. Therefore, it was extremely disappointing to discover these acts had occurred which impact more than just members of our cricket club.

“Without hesitation these matters have been reported to the local NSW Police for investigation, as this is not tolerated by our club or the local community.

“I urge anyone with any information to contact Crime Stoppers or the Dareton police.”
