Yoga class

Langtree Mall – 10am-11am

HEAD to the mall for a free 60-minute yoga class, hosted by Shaun Parker & Company during their Mildura residency. Join in as Shaun leads you and the dancers through a series of stretches and poses designed to keep you flexible, healthy and active, with classes on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week and next. Women’s Finances Morning Tea

Red Cliffs Community Resource Centre – 10.30am

ALLIE from Mallee Family Care will be at the resource centre on Friday morning to guide local women through a free financial information session. TROLLEYS

Langtree Mall – noon-1pm

A TRIP to the ballet isn’t out of the question for Sunraysia residents – but the performances that are on offer in Langtree Mall aren’t Swan Lake or The Nutcracker. They’re shopping trolley ballet. Shaun Parker & Company are presenting free, hour-long shows each day including their award-winning performance piece TROLLEYS – where the dancers spin, glide, twirl and leap off supermarket trolleys – as well as another piece performed on hoverboards. Shows are on at noon every day except Sunday and Monday until October 16.

Bronze High Tea

Garden of Hope – 1.30pm-4pm

WITH the spring flowers in full bloom, this weekend’s high teas are the perfect opportunity to step out and enjoy tea with friends overlooking Lake Hawthorn and the beautiful Garden of Hope. Hip-hop dance workshop

Langtree Mall – 4pm-5pm

ASPIRING dancers are invited to join Shaun Parker & Company to learn practical techniques to freestyle and create their own choreography to develop their hip-hop skills. These free after-school workshops are running at 4pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week and next, and are best suited to people already training in some form of dance. Robinvale Country Market

Caix Square – 5.30pm-8.30pm

ROBINVALE’S twilight market is back this Friday, with its usual wide range of locally grown produce, flowers, artisan wares, baked goods and preserves – plus food trucks for dinner. There will also be musical entertainment and activities for children, making it an enjoyable day out for the whole family.

Social Tennis

Robinvale Lawn Tennis Club – 5.45pm-8pm

EVERYONE is welcome to try out tennis. It’s a great way to stay fit, meet new people, or simply have fun with family and friends. Free for members, $10 for non-members.

Hip-hop competition heats

Langtree Mall – 11.30am-noon

THE top five dance crews in Sunraysia will take to the mall this weekend to show off their best original routines, as they compete to be named the best dancers in Sunraysia. The top three from this weekend’s contest, as judged by world-renowned dancer and choreographer Shaun Parker, will head through to next weekend’s grand final.

TICKETS for Saturday’s event are $30, which includes two savouries and three sweets plus unlimited tea, coffee and sparkling grape juice, and bookings are essential. Mildura Riverfront Tree Trail

Mildura Riverfront – 7am-4pm

THE Tree Trail, launching this weekend, encourages children and grown-ups alike to appreciate some of the special trees in Mildura and understand the roles trees play in our region, including cooling the air and producing oxygen. Pick up a trail map from Bobby + Me or Shippy’s Cafe and follow the trail to learn about 27 native and exotic trees. Each tree will be marked with identification tags featuring interesting facts, and the tags will remain on trees after this weekend so residents can enjoy the Tree Trail whenever they like.

Seniors Festival

Mildura Libraries – during opening hours

DURING October, all over 60s who join or renew their library membership will get a free calico library bag – just visit the local library and show ID.
