Friday

Mildura Harness Racing Night Meeting

Mildura Harness Recreation Reserve, 5pm-11.30pm

THIS should be a great night of racing, with the first event to start at 6.30pm.

Twilight Social Tennis

Robinvale Lawn Tennis Club – 5.45pm-9pm

EVERYONE is welcome to try out tennis. There’s no need to bring a team, or even a racquet – just ask to borrow one. It’s also a great way to meet people and find a match, with players of all calibres joining in the fun.

Roving Performers

Mildura City Heart – 6pm-late

PEOPLE out and about in Mildura this weekend should keep their eyes and ears peeled for some local musicians. A range of bands and performers will be scattered throughout the city centre and the riverfront precinct from daytime until late every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

With One Voice Choir

Sunraysia Community Health Services – 6pm-7.30pm

Head along to this inclusive choir session, where no auditions or experience are necessary.

Roving Performers

Mildura City Heart and riverfront – all day

Sunraysia Farmers Market and Riverfront Boutique Markets

Jaycee Park – 8am-noon

HELD on the banks of the picturesque Murray River, the farmers’ market offers a bounty of produce from local growers and makers, with everything from fresh veg and dried fruit to baked goods and breakfast. This week, the market will also include local artists and makers from the Riverfront Boutique Markets, with all sorts of jewellery, art, candles and textiles.

Mildura Weir parkrun

Opposite Rio Vista Park – 8am-noon

PARKRUN is on every Saturday morning and is open to anyone. The timed 5km course suits most skill levels and all participants are welcome to grab a coffee afterwards. Parkrun is free, but please register online at parkrun.com.au/milduraweir.

Family Fun Day

Garden of Hope, 168 Seventeenth Street, Cabarita – 9am-1pm

TAKE the whole family along to this morning of old-fashioned fun and games. There will be something for everyone, with a kids’ performance from Get Your Groove On, as well as the Milne Brothers Clowns, a whip- cracking demonstration, and all sorts of games, races and competitions with prizes up for grabs. There will also be food and drinks available, with coffee and barbecue breakfast and lunch on offer. Admission is $2 for a child, $3 for an adult, or $10 for a family.

March4Farmers

Langtree Mall to Nowingi Place – 10am-noon

THE community is invited to participate in a peaceful march in support of Indian farmers protesting against the Indian Government’s recently passed agriculture acts which farmers say will cripple the industry.

Foodies Night Markets

Mildura Racing Club – noon-8pm

FROM nachos to deep fried Oreos, the Foodies Night Markets Mildura is set to have something for everyone. There will be food stalls, dessert stalls, music and a kids’ jumping castle.

Entry is $2 per person, with part of the entry fee going to Rural Aid.

2021 Victorian Sidecar Speedway Championships

Olympic Park Speedway – 5pm-late

SEE Australia’s best Sidecar Gladiators rub paint at the Victorian Sidecar Speedway Championship in Mildura this weekend, with local world champion Warren Monson lining up to try and win his seventh Victorian title.

Red Cliffs Country Market

Red Cliffs Town Centre – 9am-1pm

SUNRAYSIA’S most popular weekend market is finally back. Red Cliffs’ monthly market is everything you expect from a country market and more. Sprawling through the town centre and Barclay Square, the market has something for everyone, including plants, jams and preserves, craft, bric-a-brac and jewellery.

SRS General Store market

The General Store at SRS Benetook Farms – 9am-1pm

THE latest addition to Sunraysia’s market calendar offers a variety of unique creations and local crafts alongside antiques, collections, upcycled items and refurbished furniture. The market’s location also gives visitors the added bonus of experiencing the farm’s sights and activities.

Crafted By Mildura Taste Better Walk

Various locations around Mildura CBD – 10.30am-5.30pm

This event brings together the best of Sunraysia’s premium food, wine, beer and gin at some of Mildura’s most iconic venues. Back for its second year, the event also offers live music as participants make their way from venue to venue. Tickets are limited.

Red Cliffs Historical Steam Railway

Corner of Calder Highway and Millewa Road, Red Cliffs – 11am-4pm

AS the one of the few small-gauge railways in Australia and the only steam train open to visitors in Sunraysia, this train is something special. The heritage locomotive will be available for steam train rides every half-hour, with the last train pulling out at 3.30pm.

International Women’s Day Book Launch

Collins Booksellers Mildura – 2pm

JOIN the team as Collins Booksellers launch two new collections celebrating women. Stories from the Inside: COVID-19 Tales by Ascolta Women Write is an anthology of experiences during the pandemic authored by Italian-Australian women from across the country, while Recalling the Journey II, curated by Lella Cariddi, reflects on the experience of migration from different perspectives, including some local voices. Wine, food, and of course books will be available at the event.

Brazen Hussies

Wallis Cinemas Mildura – 5pm-6.30pm

MILDURA Writers Festival is continuing its International Women’s Day celebrations with this screening of the award-winning documentary. Brazen Hussies charts the Australian women’s movement from 1965 to 1975. Tickets are available on the day for $10.

Twin Features Vegas Style

Timmis Speedway – 5pm-late

ENJOY a night of spectacular racing from the Modlites and Production Sedan Features. The event also includes a full support program from local classes.
