Tough loss for Red Cliffs at Bendigo Country Week

RED Cliffs Cricket Association fell agonisingly short of winning their final Bendigo Country Week game on Thursday.

The association went down by two runs to Castlemaine and District after the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method came into play.

Castlemaine and District were 2/95 batting first when rain halted play and ended their innings.

Red Cliffs were then set a target of 140 from 29 overs under the DLS method, reaching 7/138 in response.

Mark East top-scored with 40, with Lachlan Rohde (30) and Shannon Bowen (27) providing support.

Red Cliffs finished in sixth position with a 0-3 record for the week.
