MILDURA 

LAST Tuesday the ladies played Stableford with Sue Burgess winning the nine-hole event (and a ball) with 17 points from runner-up Aileen Norton on 13 points. 

Kerry Harris won the 18-hole event with 37 points from runner-up Ruth Rodi with 36 points. 

Balls: (4) 37 to 32 points. 

NTPs: 10th Trentham Estate – Tracy Katis, 12th Zilzie Wines – Glenda Hiskins 376cm. 

Wednesday’s event was a stroke event for the Monthly Mug sponsored by TWW/Ransoms played in two grades. 

Peter Rhodes won A Grade with 69 net from runner-up Ben Callaghan on a countback with Noel Hedwards, both on 71 net. 

B Grade was won by Perry Hill with 69 net from runner-up Alan Lay on a countback from Don McConnell, both on 73 net. 

Balls: (18) 74 net on a countback. 

NTPs: 1st Pete’s Pure – Maurice Warn 61cm, 2nd Pig – Robert Latta 272cm, 10th Trentham Estate – Doug Matthews 669cm, 12th Zilzie Wines – Cesare Fraiia 245cm. 

Friday’s women’s 18-hole Stableford was won by Kerry Harris (and a ball) with 33 points from runner-up Tracy Katis with 28 points. 

On Saturday the men played a Stableford event for venue vouchers. 

Robert Morgan won A Grade with 40 points from Ben Doherty on a countback with Lee Tucker, both on 39 points Trevor Rogers was back on the dais in B Grade with 41 points from runner-up Alex Barber on 39 points with Steven Fumberger third on 38 points. 

Wayne Davis survived a three-way countback with Dennis Murray and Riley Aunger to win C Grade, all on 36 points. 

Balls: (30) 35 points on a countback.

RIVERSIDE 

ON Monday, December 9, an 18-hole Stableford event was played with Neil Bryant taking the win with 37 points from runner-up Rob Arnold with 35 points. 

NTPs: 7th – Rob Arnold 78cm, 18th – Brian Young 170cm. 

The members and visitors Stableford event played last Wednesday was played in two grades, with Jordan Appleby amassing 45 points to win A Grade, with not only the score of the day but also the score of the week. 

Runner-up went to Graeme Southwell with 39 points . 

Laurie Riordan grabbed the B Grade win with an excellent 40 points while brother Jeff picked up second place on 37 points. 

Balls: 35 points.

On Thursday the women played par and Roylene Bailey played a great round to win with +2 from runner-up Kathy Ridley who finished square.

Gary Van Steenis had a good win on Friday in the nine-hole medley Stableford with 23 points, two in front of runner-up Shawn Clarke with 21 points . 

Saturday was the annual Hambrose event with all players hoping to play well enough to take home a ham for Christmas, with a dozen up for grabs. 

The winning team were, Luke and Josh Williams, Shannon Moiler and Nathan Darby with 53.125 net. 

Runners-up were Chris Romeo, Michael Pitto, Dominic Sergi and Brent Harmer not far behind on 54.5. 

The mixed team winners were Greg Barila, Rocky Pipicella, Stephanie Baker and Rubi Barila with 58.875. 

Balls: 59.5 net.

Sunday’s medley Stableford was won by Ian Fleming with 38 points. 

There were five players on 37 points vying for runner-up with the countback going to Hayden Cooke from Ang D’Amico, Daniel Slorach, Ethan Gray and Travis Jobson.

COOMEALLA 

DUE to course maintenance on the front nine all competitions will play the back nine holes twice. 

This Wednesday is a medley Stableford; Friday is a nine-hole medley Stableford; Saturday the men and women play Stableford; Sunday is an 18- hole medley Stableford. 

Last Wednesday’s was a Stableford event.

Sunday was an 18-hole medley Stableford won by Brendan Dean with 41 points from runner-up Nathan Wilton 39 points.

RED CLIFFS 

A MEDLEY Stableford competition was held last Wednesday, with 48 players taking to the course playing off the white markers. 

A Grade: Paul Dominelli 40 points, runner-up Lloyd Hale 37 points on a countback. 

B Grade: Ian Doering 37 points, runner-up Kevin Leach 37 points. 

Balls: (8) 37 to 33 points on a countback. 

NTPs: 3rd Lindemans – Liz Leach 270cm, 8th Chemist – Sally Jones 610cm, Michael Morrall 428cm, 12th Lucky Dip – Nathan Riordan 430cm, 12th Red Cliffs Bakery – Sally Jones 0cm, 15th J.

WENTWORTH 

A GOOD number of players competed in Thursday’s event with Howard Hankinson taking home the dollars with 33 Stableford points from runner-up, the old stalwart Bill Slee on 32 points with the third prize going to Jeff Woodruff. 

The Mr Risky pink ball was won by our longest playing member Bill Murray with a score of 21 points. 

Bill Murray also won the bottle of wine with an NTP on the 2nd hole landing 412cm from the pin. 

Sunday’s Stableford event was a non-event due to the extreme weather forecast. 

The Tuesday Chicken Run is in recess until Febuary due to pre-Christmas commitments and January school holidays, as well as the usual high temperatures during this period. 

Thursday December 18, golfers can tee off until 8.45am due to the weather forecast of 35 degrees – go to our Facebook page – Wentworth Golf Club 2648 – for tee-off times as the weather heats up over summer.

LAST Wednesday’s Stableford winner was Shane Cordell with 35 points from runner-up Jim Piper on 34 points.

Friday’s nine-hole Stableford was won by Joel Doherty with 21 points. 

Saturday was a par event with Shane Gerring winning on a countback with + 5 from runner-up Steve Farley (who parred the course) also on +5. 

Balls: (2) +3 to +1 on a countback. 

NTPs: 3rd Australian Vintage – Jason Binding 172cm, 8th Drummond Golf – John Bell 533cm, 12th G&T Schnitzel – Ken Matulick 85cm, 16th – John Bell 523cm. 

Today is Stableford, Friday is a nine-hole Stableford on the front nine and on Saturday it is also a Stableford event. 

The community Christmas party is on Friday night at the golf club starting at 6pm with a barbecue and activities for the kids. 

Great raffle prizes can be won during the night including a club membership and Santais arriving after 8pm.
