FOOTBALL Federation Sunraysia (FFS) hopes to secure Victorian Government funding for lighting upgrades at local soccer grounds.
The State Government this week announced The World Game Facilities Fund, which allows soccer clubs and organisations to apply for support to deliver projects such as new lighting, pitch upgrades and building female-friendly change rooms.
The new $2.5 million fund will make available grants of up to $250,000 to upgrade existing facilities or build new ones.
FFS general manager Susan Watts said it would look to tap into the funding for better lighting at Nichols Point and Soccer Park at the Aero Ovals complex.
