New boss for Lower Murray Water

LOWER Murray Water has announced Paul Northey as its new managing director.

Chair Sharyon Peart said she believed the rural water supplier found an “excellent” person for the job.

“Paul brings exceptional skills, leadership and capabilities to the role and will be pivotal in continuing to develop and enhance our organisation and the services that we provide to the region,” she said.

“Paul comes to Lower Murray Water with over 25 years’ experience in the Victorian water industry, in both the urban and rural sectors.

“He is a qualified engineer with master’s degrees in engineering and business administration and has held senior executive roles in project and service delivery, corporate strategy, planning and sustainability.”

Mr Northey was employed by the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning as the senior executive for regional transport.

“I have spent my entire career living and working in regional Victoria, and I understand what is important to regional communities,” he said.

“I am looking forward to strengthening my knowledge of the Lower Murray region and ensuring we deliver a high-class customer experience for our urban and rural customers.”

Mr Northey will commence on August 1.
