VETERANS
THERE are only five days before the veteran golfers from district clubs meet at the Mildura Golf Resort to contest the first event for 2020.
On March 2, pairs of competitors will play a 4BBB par game.
Registration will start in front of the clubhouse from 8.30am in readiness for the traditional shotgun start at 9.30am.
Members are reminded that there will be a general meeting at the conclusion of presentations.
As previously reported, the cost to current members will be $20 that covers the entry fee, green fee and lunch.
Mildura generally has a great lunch option as they can provide a choice of three delicious meals. Another advantage that Mildura offers is the number of carts available from the pro shop.
The good news doesn’t stop there. Vets can hire those carts on the day for only $20, meaning each pair only pays $10 each.
It is such a good deal it is hardly worth the effort of bringing your own cart.
However, the catch here is that there is a limited number so don’t take too long before contacting the pro shop to book yours.
For non-members who want to join us, come along and get to play with a great bunch of players on a challenging and picturesque course while competing for great prizes.
Even the NAGA is worth winning with Noel Pugsley presenting pillows to the lowest scorers because it is obvious that they should have stayed in bed.
He also presents prizes for the best scores and those with good rounds receive golf balls.
Have a great tee shot on any of the par-threes and you’re in contention for a bottle from the district’s best wineries for NTP.
If you want to join us, remember to get along on Monday morning and find out for yourself.
You need to be 50 or older pay a once off registration fee, a annual membership fee and be keen to play golf. $20 covers both. Simple as that.
