Coomealla Golf Club cops a hit in border closure

COOMEALLA Golf Club and other golf clubs close to the Victoria and New South Wales border won’t be hit by the border closure as badly as first feared.

After the announcement of Tuesday night’s border closure, the club feared it would be impossible to get a permit to cross the Murray River unless for work, education or health care reasons.

But the permits include an exemption for those living within 50km of the border, meaning clubs such as Coomealla with a high number of Victorian members would still be able to give all members access.
