Friday’s Cashed Up twilight Stableford was won by Jimmy Piper on 20 points taking home the cash from the prize pool from runner-up Gary Vansteenis on 19 points. Part of the pool is now jackpotting until the end of January.
Saturday was the Monthly Medal Stroke event sponsored by Drummond Golf Mildura Sunraysia Golf Driving Range – 1st: $50 voucher and Monthly Medal Shirt went Claude Dawson with 84-69 net; 2nd: $30 voucher went to Greg Marshall 87-71 net; 3rd: $20 voucher went to Graeme Dunne 90-73 net.

ON Monday, January 2 the veterans competition was a Stableford event won by Ron Leamon (13) with 34 points from runner-up Mark Woodhouse (2) on 29 points and in 3rd place was Bruce Smythe (26) on 28 points.

The ladies 9 hole Stableford competition played on January 3 was won by Christine Hartley (45) with 20 points and the the 18 hole competition was won by Sue Burgess (21) with 35 points from runner-up Frann Sette (28) with 34 points.

The men played Stableford last Wednesday and a large field of 156 players took to the course on a breezy but pleasant summer day with a couple of very good scores returned.
A Grade winner was Coomealla captain Ross Robertson (7) with 37 points from runner-up Rob Toms (3) with 35 points and for a 3rd place mention was Steve Spooner (8) with 34 points.
B Grade winner was Aaron Jeffrey (11) with the best score of the day of 43 points to win easily from runner-up an in-form Alan Lay (13) with 38 points and Noel Hedwards (11) getting a 3rd place mention with 36 points.
C Grade winner was Sam Smythe (14) with an excellent 41 points from runner-up Greg Stewart (18) on 37 points and a 3rd place mention to Andrew Kellock (15) with 36 points.
D Grade winner was Rod Ford (19) on a countback from runner-up Brian Alderton (27) and 3rd place Adam Luitjes (24) all on 38 points.
The ball comp had 39 balls to distribute and 33 points on a countback or better collected.

Friday’s medley twilight Stableford competition 9 holes competiton was won by Frank Geyer (30) with 20 points from runner-up Oliver Sharman (20) with 19 points.
There were five balls in the ball comp and 17 points or better collected.
Saturday was a medley Stableford event with 176 players playing for the first Monthly Medal for 2023 and with warm weather forecast some of the golf scores were just as hot.
A Grade winner was Glen Wallace (8) with 69 net from runner-up Tim Mitchell (10) on 70 net and a 3rd place mention to Ross Bowen on 71 net.
B Grade winner was Craig Hollingworth (18) with 68 net from runner-up Ken Wakefield (16) on 70 net and a 3rd place mention to Ken Byrne (14) with a 71 net.
C Grade winner, with the best score of the day, was Brant Reid (23) with 66 net from runner-up Graham Robertson (26) on 68 net and a 3rd place mention to Aaron Robson with 71 net.
There were 44 balls in the ball comp and 75 net on a countback or better collected.

A medley Stableford Drummond golf event was played on Sunday which was won by Lee McLeod (14) with 40 points from runner-up Adam Shepherd (14) on 39 points.
The first major event for 2023 is coming up with the Klemms Australia Day Ambrose event on Thursday, January 26. With big fields expected there will be a morning shotgun start at 8am and an afternoon shot gun start at 1pm.
A barbecue lunch will be provided for morning and afternoon groups from 12noon-1pm.
RED CLIFFS
LAST Wednesday a medley Par was played and in A Grade Peter Wright was the winner with +4 followed by Scott Connelly on +3. Al Raynor won B Grade with +2 and Mick Morrall had +1 to be runner-up. In C Grade, Kaylene Geddes won on a countback from Ron Hall with +1.
Scores above -2 won a ball.

A medley Stableford was played on Saturday and Josh Bailey won A Grade on a countback from Adrian Hensgen with 41 points.
In B Grade Catherine Lanigan had 39 points to win from from Kerry Gray on 37 points and Glenys Murray was the winner in C Grade on a countback from Rita Chase with 39 points.
Balls winners went to 34 points above.

HEAT POLICY: When the forecast temperature is 40 degrees or higher the extreme heat policy will be applied for Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday competitions. To be in the competition players need to adjust their bookings to tee off before 9.30am. Tee off times will be available on both the 1st and 10th tees on Saturday and Wednesday.
