THE Veterans event held on Monday, January 23 was won by Jeff Giddings (12) with 39 points from runner-up Robin Arnold (19) on 38 points and third place went to Ross Bowen (6) on 37 points.
NTPs: 2nd – Ken Wakefield 295cm; 12th – Jeff Giddings 57cm.
The ladies Tuesday 18-hole competition on January 24 was won by Gayle Ford (34) with a fantastic 42 points from runner-up Ann Bowen (10) with 36 points.
Balls: Five balls and 33 points on a countback or better collected.
NTPs: 2nd Trentham Estate – Ann Bowen 605cm; 10th Trentham Estate – Eily Raeck 60cm; 12th – Zilzie Wines Sue Jones 201cm.
Last Wednesday the men played Stableford and 131 players took to the course and good scores were the order of the day.
A Grade winner was Rob Toms (3) shooting a fantastic two under par 70 off the stick for 41 points from runner-up Clyde Hillier (10) with 39 points and third place went to David Healy (11) with 38 points.
B Grade winner was Brayden Collicoat (17) with 41 points from runner-up Stephen Smith (12) with 40 points and third place went to Paddy Mills (14) with 37 points.
C Grade winner was Brian Alderton (27) with 41 points on a countback from runner-up Mathias Moisidis (21) also on 41 points and third place went to Graeme Worthington (23) with 39 points.
Balls: 32 balls and 35 points on a countback or better collected.
Congratulations to Glen Marr who had an ace on the 2nd hole and also Jeff Giddings who eagled the 1st hole to share the eagles nest.

On Thursday the Australia Day Ambrose event was sponsored by Klemms Newsagency – thanks to Kerrie Stewart as it was their final event after many years of support. The day was very well supported with over 240 players attending with both morning and afternoon shotgun starts.
Winners were Jacob Slimmon, Wayne Slimmon, Justin Clay and James Clay with 62/52 ½ net.; runners-up were Aaron Wilkie, Anthony Morris, Mitchell McGlashan and Nathen Sweeny with 67/54 ⅛ net; third place was Steven Russell, Janene Charman, Robert Knot and Wayne Hatcher with 66/54 ½ net.
Best dressed winners were Janet Luke, Nora Paech, Ros Nash and Lyn Delmenico.

The ladies 18 holes Friday comp winner was Mabel Crouch (17) with 34 points from runner-up Tracy Katis (43) with 33 points while the Friday medley 9 holes twilight Stableford competition winner was Glen Walker (14) with 20 points from runner-up Oliver Sharman (21) with 19 points.
Balls: There were six balls in the ball comp and 17 points on a countback or better collected.
Saturday’s medley Stableford had 151 players venture out onto the course and with a hot day forecast, the morning tee times were at a premium, however heavy cloud during the day made it more humid than scorching hot. Some exceptional scores were recorded.
A Grade winner was Matt Pascoe (4) with a great round of 39 points from runner-up David Murray (5) on a countback with third placed Cameron Stewart (+1) both on 37 points.
B Grade winner was Ron Casey (13) with 42 points from runner-up Peter Hartmann (11) on a countback with third placed Stephen Smith (14) both on 40 points.
C Grade winner and best score of the day was Wayne (Dodgy) Dahmes (17) with 44 points from runner-up Michael White (15) on 40 points and third place went to Nigel Ingram (17) with 39 points.
D Grade winner was Jeff Lay (23) with 41 points from runner-up Steve Russell (30) on 40 points and third place went to Bob Bettess (23) with 38 points.
There were 37 balls in the ball comp and 35 points on a countback or better collected.

The medley Sunday Drummond Golf competition winner was Glen Wallace (6) with 38 points from runner-up Geoff Dea (21) and third place went to Ricky Lowe (7) on 37 points.

LAST Wednesday was a medley Par event and Lee McLeod won A Grade on a countback from Ian Alexander with +2.
In B Grade George Riordan had +1 to win on a countback from Brad Morgan while Ken Evans won C Grade with +1 from Bill Woosnam on -1.
NTPs: 8th – F. Englefield and Roger Walder; 15th – J. Gleeson; 17th – D. Hopkins; 18th – N Birch.
We had a fantastic field of 136 on Australia Day to play Texas Stableford Ambrose in fours. Steve and Alex Spooner and Gavin and Paul Graham won the day with 138 points and Mark Bamford,
Graham Walter, Sue Gathercole and Sue Johns were the runners-up. Thank you to Garth Doherty and Drummond Golf for sponsoring the day.
Friday’s nine hole comp was won by Peter Winslow with 21 points on a countback from Michael Orr.
A medley Stableford was played on Saturday and Jason Finch won A Grade with 40 points while Terry Pain was runner-up on a countback with 39 points. In B Grade Noel Douglass had 43 points to win from Graeme Irvin on 39 points on a countback.
Ken Evans had 37 points to win C Grade and Biddy Pitt was runner-up with 34 points.

LAST Wednesday was a Stableford event won by Jim Piper with 37 points from runner-up Ken Matulick with 32 points.

A great field of 75 players competed on Australia Day for an Open Ambrose in fours sponsored by Mildura Central. The winners were the team of Tye Maloney, Matt Burns, Matt Bailey and Josh
Bailey from runners-up Robert Lambert, Ang Myers, Scott Carr and Alex Mullins.

On Friday the monthly jackpot was played for our 9-hole twilight game. After being pipped most weeks, Paul Mulder finally got over the line to take out the weekly prize and the jackpot.
On Saturday, 27 players played a Par competition with Luke McClennand on +4 winning on a countback from Dylan Burnett with John Thompson coming third with +3.
