VETERANS

MONDAY, June 5 is the date for the monthly Sunraysia Veteran Golfers event.

District veterans will be travelling to the Red Cliffs Golf Club to compete in the Best Price Golf single Stableford event. Hopefully you have already ordered a hire cart if you need one, otherwise, don’t delay contacting the clubhouse as soon as possible. Even though members are reminded to wear their name badge there are still those who forget and become ineligible to participate in the draw. Please check your GA score to ensure you know your current handicap for this course.

The day starts with registration around 8.30am. Expect to hear from our captain Ned, as he shares local rules before distributing cards and sending players to their starting tees in time for the 9.30am shotgun start.

The course is in excellent condition at the moment and the volunteers who help maintain it deserve to be congratulated. Following the game there will be prize presentations and an opportunity to hear about our newest sponsor. The club is also renowned for providing a warm and welcoming 19th hole and the ladies always serve a delicious homemade meal.

With an extra event to be held this month at Ouyen, members who need to organise a partner and a ride will be given an opportunity to meet at the end of presentations. That date is Monday, June 19 and Ouyen gives us the fun and challenge of sandscrapes.
