The opening event each year is the Forty Winks 4BBB day, held this year on Monday March 4.
Players will have dusted off their badges after the two-month summer break and will be wearing them as they present for registration.
Tony, John and Brian will be set up on the verandah from around 8.30am, happily accepting $20 notes and ensuring all players sign up for lunch and the raffle.
In preparation, players will have sorted out who their playing partner is or will seek the help of our captain Ned in finding one.
They will have gone onto the Golf Australia website and obtained their current GA handicap and entered that information into the daily handicap calculator.
Alternatively, there are lists up on the pro shop window to find out correct handicaps.
Those who have ordered carts can collect them, and while waiting for Ned’s briefing at 9am can have a practice putt. Make sure you have applied the sunscreen and you have a hat, sunglasses and something to help you stay hydrated.
At around 9.30am we will depart for our designated starting tees in readiness for the shotgun start.
