VETERANS
THE next event is a 4BBB stableford event to be played at the Robinvale Golf Club on Monday May 13.
Riverside Golf Club is hosting the Victorian Veteran Golf Association Championship Monday May 6 and Tuesday May 7. Entries close soon so contact Brendan Bower at Riverside Golf Club to register. The event is 36 holes with daily NTPs. A shotgun starts both days with a lunch supplied on Monday, breakfast on Tuesday morning and then a light lunch. There will be A, B and C grade events. On Monday night there is a dinner for interested players. Visitors can play on the Sunday prior to familiarise themselves with the course. A barbecue tea will be available after play.
MILDURA
THE ladies played monthly medal and putting on Tuesday April 9.
Winner of the nine-hole event was Isobel Westhead (37) 38 net and Faye Casey (39) won the putting event with 15 putts.
The 18-hole monthly medal winner was Carla Sherriff (26) on a three-way countback, with runner-up Margaret Morrison (23) and third placed Michelle Blair (26), all tied on 73 net.
Putting winner was Val Whitelaw with 29 putts. Balls: (6) 73 net on a countback. NTPs: 10th Trentham Estate – Ann Bowen 69cm; 12th Zilzie Wines – Ann Bowen 288cm.
Last Wednesday a field of 92 players played for the midweek monthly mug in three grades.
A Grade winner was Jeff Chalmers (15) with 69 net from runner-up Geoff Hazeldine (10) with 70 net. Third place went to Les Williams (14) on 71 net.
B Grade winner was Nigel Ingram (20) with 70 net from runner-up James Clay (16) on 71 net. Third place went to Cesare Fraiia (19) with 73 net.

On Friday the ladies played Stableford, with Kerry Harris (45) taking the win on 37 points.
Saturday’s medley Stableford competition was played in three grades with 106 players taking to the course.
A Grade winner was Steven Fumberger (12) with 40 points from runner-up Peter Rhodes (14) on 39 points on a countback from Geoff Hazeldine (10).
B Grade winner was Julian Maloney (17) with 43 points from runner-up Nigel Ingram (19) on 36 points on a countback from third placed Alan Lay (16).
C Grade winner was Rod Truman (22) on 38 points from runner-up Rob Latta (25) on 34 points. Third place went to Sally Rollie (25) on 33 points. Balls: (25) 34 points on a countback. RIVERSIDE
ON Tuesday April 5 the ladies played a nine-hole Stableford, and Adel Dal Corrobo continued her good form winning with 15 points.
Last Wednesday’s Stableford played in two grades, with Josh Furey having the score of the week with 39 points. It was a countback on 36 points to decide Trevor Williams as runner-up from Alan Connolly. With four players on 36 points, a countback was required in B Grade. Cooper Mitchell took the win from runner-up Samuel Longeri with Luke Shelly and Tom Wilkinson just missing the cut. Balls: 33 points on a countback.
