Wentworth Shire Council has been granted $2 million for much needed improvements and installations throughout the shire.
The funding received will go towards a new toilet block and sewer line at the Buronga Riverfront Nature Play area, an all-weather surface shared-way from the Buronga Wetlands to the Buronga Riverfront Nature Play area, a sealed car park and road around the northern oval at the George Gordon Sporting Complex in Dareton, upgrades to two reserves, including a new retaining wall, upgraded stairs and paths at James King Park Gol Gol and pathway on Junction Island Wentworth, a purpose built 40x50m Men’s Shed at Dareton and a new toilet and amenities block at the Pooncarie camping grounds.
The funding has been granted as part of the NSW Resources for Regions program.
“I am excited to see these projects in Wentworth and surrounds come to fruition as they will have a real benefit to locals as well as visitors,” Legislative Council spokesperson Wes Fang said.
