Imperials switch on power after a slow start

FOR the better part of three quarters on Saturday, Imperials played the brand of high- pressure footy they pride themselves on.

But the slow start to the game was of concern to Imperials coach Brad Hards, ahead of City Oval blockbuster against minor premiers Mildura this weekend.

“The first quarter wasn’t there but, apart from that, I thought the three quarters after that was where we need to be at,” Hards said.

“I’ve addressed that with the boys and we obviously stepped up (after the first term) but we can’t afford to do that against Mildura next week, we can’t have the slow start.
