Our list of the top SFNL stars: Netball (10-6)

SUNRAYSIA Daily’s sports team has come up with a list of the best 25 SFNL A Grade netballers this season and we’re counting them down. Here’s 10-6.

10. Meg McManus (Imperials)

The ultra-consistent defender/midcourter has been named among the Green Machine’s best two players in seven out of her team’s 13 games this season. Megs is captain for a good reason: she leads by example, both on and off the court.

9. Christie Becker (Wentworth)

A class act in defence for the all-conquering Roos. Great hands, reads the play well for intercepts and is versatile enough to play a more forward role. Has missed some games this season, forcing her down in the list. But definitely one of the key cogs in a team of stars.

8. Morna Naquto (South Mildura)

Was having a great season in defence for South before suffering a season-ending knee injury in round 13. Showed enough quality to get a Fiji national squad call-up and will be one of the future stars of the A Grade competition if she stays in Sunraysia.

7. Ellen Morrish (Ouyen United)

A pivotal player at centre for the Kangas. Fleet-footed, a quality passer of the ball and reads the play well. Her consistently strong performances is shown by her being named among her side’s best players in six of the Kangas’ 13 games this year.

6. Ava Zadow (Mildura)

The 18-year-old oozes class and consistency at goal defence. Named seven times among the Dees’ best two players so far this season. Multi-talented Ava could be carving it up in basketball or footy, but has focused on netball this year. It’s paying dividends.
