BOWLS

Wentworth

ON Wednesday, July 20 social bowls was played in very cold condition. The winners were Gary Herne (s), Josie Nolan and Bob Robertson.

On Saturday, July 23 there were 14 very keen bowlers. The winners were Wal Banyard (s) and Ron McAdams.

Merbein

THERE was a good turnout for the two bowl triples social event which was played on Sunday, July 24 and there were three rinks competing for the chocolates.

Winners on the day were 2GW: Lead Lance Graham, second was Ian Landsdown and skip was Geoffrey Greenhill.

It was very refreshing to see so many young bowlers at Merbein.

We would like to thank the two Merbein teams for representing our club at the Workers big day on Sunday.

Also a reminder that Vets and Pennant season is fast approaching and we are holding Pennant practice on Saturday’s and would like all members intending on playing Pennant to participate. We have our annual Gold Cup challenge against the Workers on Saturday, August 20 at Merbein.
